Apple has released iOS 11.2.6, watchOS 11.2.6 and macOS 10.13.3 update to address Indian Telugu bug crash there are two crucial bug fixes in this release Last week some users reported that a single Telugu character was crashing their iPhones, Mac and Apple Watches. when the Telugu character is sent in an iMessage it can freeze up the entire Messages app on all of a person’s Mac and iOS devices.
The updates are labeled iOS 11.2.6, watchOS4.2.3, tv OS 11.2.6, and macOS High Sierra 10.13.3 Supplemental Update, and they’re all available to download on supported devices right now. This is the third time in the past few months that Apple has issued iOS 11 updates to fix bugs that crash iPhones.
Notably, iOS 11.2.6 is the eleventh update to iOS 11 and comes just ahead of iOS 11.3 which will be a major update that is expected to bring new Animojis, a battery health feature and FaceID for family account purchases among other things. The updates do not add any new features to any of the platforms and offer no other security updates.
The earlier updates to these platforms were also bug fixes, but the iOS update had a little more to it. Following a pretty disastrous iOS 11 rollout and backlash over Apple limiting performance on older iPhone models, the company will be taking a step back and will reportedly delay introducing new features with iOS 12 and will instead take this year to focus on stabilizing its software and address performance and reliability issues.
